Rick’s list

Was just watching Rick’s List on CNN. They were talking about the ongoing story of Tyler Clementi.

For those who don’t know, he was a freshman at Rutger’s who was surreptitiously spied on making out, and perhaps having sex with another man. Then they did it again. After this second occasion Tyler discovered what happened, he (allegedly) made some comments online concerning the invasion of his privacy. Then the next day he committed suicide.

Now, what happened today was they were discussing it on Rick’s List and Rick Sanchez apparently objected to calling it bullying. That from my understanding he saw it as a mean thing, a hurtful thing, an objectionable thing, but not bullying. I have to agree, without something to show me they were actually tormenting him it was an invasion, but that isn’t bullying.

Some have said this wouldn’t have happened if Tyler was straight. I can only say those people must have, at best, minimal exposure to the internet. Just ask Erin Andrews of ESPN.
